Evaluation Intern Position

Position Overview

Laurus Grant Writing and Evaluation Services seeks a part-time student Evaluation Intern. The intern will assist our Evaluation team in implementing program impact evaluation and data management resources across Laurus’ clients and assist with data analysis. The intern’s work will support and inform the organization’s work in the areas of technical assistance, development of evaluation tools, and formative and summative program evaluation. The intern will support making program implementation and outcomes data understandable and actionable, and will assist on projects including research on out-of-school time programming in low income school districts.

This is a part time, paid internship which will run from June 2026-August 2026. This is an in-person position at our Madison, NJ office.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Take part in quantitative analyses of program stakeholder surveys, programmatic, and administrative data to inform various program and planning efforts, evaluation of program impact, and improvements in technical assistance delivery. 

  • Develop program data summaries to contribute to technical assistance delivery, including tracking program compliance and outcomes. 

  • Support the management of Laurus Grant Writing and Evaluation Services’ internal databases.

  • Collect, analyze and report on internal and external data, producing graphics, visualizations, and tables for data reports, presentations, and decision making.

  • Conduct descriptive and statistical analyses in Excel to support program evaluations.

  • Draft reports and presentations for internal and external audiences, as requested.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Education, Public Health, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field

  • Availability to commit to approximately 15 hours per week from June 2026 to  August 2026, with the possibility of extension

  • Demonstrated analytical experience and proficiency with Microsoft Excel; must be skilled in cleaning and manipulating data in Excel using formulas and functions; must understand how to create pivot tables, graphs, and charts

  • Proficiency with Google Drive and online survey platforms, such as Google Forms and SurveyMonkey

  • Familiarity with data analysis and program evaluation methodologies

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to create and deliver presentations and reports on data analysis

  • Demonstrated organizational skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to work independently, with demonstrated ability to learn new material or tools
